00:00:00.000 — Review service types and rates In Settings, click Billing and rates. Review the service types and hourly rates before recording work. These practice settings provide the defaults used by time entries. The subscription controls on this page manage your firm’s Docket plan separately. 00:00:19.000 — Choose the client and service Click Time to open time capture. Choose the client workspace and service type for the work you performed. Here we use Jordan Lee’s T one engagement and the T one preparation service. Check the resolved hourly rate before entering the time. 00:00:39.000 — Enter a useful time description Enter the date and start time, then set Hours to zero point five for thirty minutes. Add a clear description such as Review supporting documents. Check the rate and Billable checkbox. This fictional entry uses one hundred seventy-five dollars per hour. 00:00:59.000 — Save and verify the time entry Click Log time. Then review Recent time entries to confirm the description, duration, and amount. The new entry shows thirty minutes at one hundred seventy-five dollars per hour, for eighty-seven dollars and fifty cents. Confirm the saved record before moving on to billing. 00:01:20.000 — Review the client’s time and billing Open Jordan Lee’s client record and click Time and billing. Review the client’s recent time alongside existing invoice drafts. The new thirty-minute entry appears here too. Check which work remains unbilled so that the next draft contains the work you intend to invoice. 00:01:41.000 — Generate a draft from unbilled entries Click Generate invoice to create a draft from the two uninvoiced billable entries. Together they total two hundred twenty-six dollars and twenty-five cents before tax. Check the tax rate before generating your own draft. Thirteen percent is only the fictional rate used in this example. 00:02:03.000 — Open the new invoice for review Click the new draft number to open the invoice for review. Confirm the firm and client details, then check that you are reviewing the correct draft. Creating the draft does not send it. This example remains an internal draft with no message or payment request sent. 00:02:25.000 — Check each line and the final total Review the descriptions, hours, and rates on both invoice lines. The subtotal is two hundred twenty-six dollars and twenty-five cents. With the example tax, the total is two hundred fifty-five dollars and sixty-six cents. Confirm the details before following your firm’s sending or export process.
